Today, we had our first session in PE where we actually used the volleyballs. I was so excited because it was about a month since the last time I played on court. The previous meeting was just an orientation and the session before that got suspended due to the inclement weather. All we did today were drills and not actual play. It served as a 'warm-up' for the next activities that we will do. I was not disappointed, really because I liked the drills. I suddenly remembered our training when I was in high school. I realized how much I missed playing volleyball with my high school friends. I used to play EVERYDAY. I got addicted to the sport.
When I got into UP, I tried getting volleyball as my first PE subject but I had to change it into table tennis because of time conflict. I had to prioritize the GE subjects. So I said to myself I would get it next sem. But same dilemma... 7 sems had passed before the gods had permitted me to enlist PE 2 Volleyball, my 4th PE. I guess patience is a virtue. Now that I got already I wanted, I won't waste a single moment in enjoying it since, practically, this is my last sem.
Apart from that, I've also been watching the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix, the first professional volleyball club league in the country. It's a joy to see former players from UAAP & NCAA as well as players who came from other schools, form club teams and emerge themselves in the volleyball battlefield. In addition to that, the management required each team to include 2 imports to their roster. It was a completely different set-up--bringing the competence to a higher level. Personally, I'm rooting for Team Cagayan since it's where Aiza Maizo-Pontillas plays for. Yes, she's my idol ahehehe. She's a very skilled and talented player and I started noticing that the very time I started watching UAAP games (Season 73). It's because of her why I loved volleyball even more. Haha enough about that. I'm sad about the game result today 'cause Cagayan lost against TMS-Army. :( They were celebrating a 17-game winning streak (16 games from Shakey's VLeague Season 10 Open Conference and 1 game from PSLGP) until today. I noticed they weren't themselves today. TMS-Army may have improved most especially with Wanitchaya (THA) and Murakoshi (JPN) but it also took advantage of Cagayan's inconsistency in today's game. I hope Cagayan gets it together in the coming games and make up for its loss.

Cagayan versus TMS Army. Kotruang going for a kill.
